Title: Do Lions Live on Lily Pads?
Author: Melanie Walsh
Do Lions live on lily pads? Is one of many books by Melanie
Walsh, for preschool to kindergarten aged children, which encourages the
children to increase how much they know of the world around them. This book also encourages the children to
answer the questions with simple yes or no answers, engaging in the story. For
example “Do lions live on lily pads? NO, but frogs do.” The answers are all explained with examples
and all are no except for the last one that says “Do fleas live in fur? Yes!
Scratch, scratch!” The story makes for a great guessing game , lots of laughs
and loud answers from any audience The
Bright colours, small amounts of text, and subjects that provide just enough
detail to identify each animal make a great eye catching story for toddlers.
